I would not. The contribution rules state that our "Composer" credit is only "Used for the composer of the film's Original Score", and that's George Stoll, only George Stoll. The fact that Pete Rugolo contributed some dialectic jazz is lovely, and I can imagine awarding a "song writer" credit for it, but he's definitely not "the composer of the film's Original Score", so he can't get that credit.

So if we really want, we could consider his dialectic jazz as one or more song(s), in which case he could be credited for that. Alternatively, we could look at this more as something like an "Additional Music by" credit, which appears in many, many films, and which we consistently ignore. Keep in mind that those who are credited for "Additional Music by" also *have* have composed original music for the film, but are still never credited for that in DVD Profiler, for the same reason: our "Composer" credit is only "Used for the composer of the film's Original Score", which they are not.

I think if the movie's individual songs are listed in the credits elsewhere, as they often are, it would help give context to this.  If he is listed as the person who created any of them and it doesn't look like they were existing bits of music, I'd think he would get a Song Writer Credit.  If he isn't them it does become a bit more unclear.

In the latter case I think I'd not contribute him towards the online database but list him in my local database as Composer.  (Not as a Song Writer as there's no evidence to suggest he wrote any songs, just some jazz that may or may not have been something that could be identified as a song rather than incidental music. I guess I might change my mind if I viewed the film and I could identify the jazz in question and it seemed a discreet bit of music.  Fortunately in my own database I can mess with the Rules to suit myself, but for the online I normally err towards caution, as I think less and accurate is better than more with some mistakes.)
