I just found this a little while back. 'scuse copying, this is from another thread a couple of days back:

If you go to "open media files" in PowerDVD, then navigate to the blu-ray, you can open the raw files themselves (they're in X:\BDMV\STREAM, in the .mts format). The movie will of course be (one of) the biggest one(s). Accessing the movie that way will let you get a screencap using the C key as normal.

If you can't hit PrtScrn to get a screen shot and the app won't let you, then there's no easy way to do it.  The program is displaying a uniform color for the viewing area which is what you'll get if you take a screen shot - and it basically sends the video stream directly to the video card.  If you have the player open and take a screen shot, hide the player, and then display the screen shot over where it was, you'll still see the picture.  But if you close the player, you'll just see the solid color.

I remember that I used to have problems taking DVD screen grabs if I had hardware acceleration enabled in the player options. Maybe it's the same for HD?
