I recently added 2 movies to the contribution list, Independence Day in the Lentical cover and Die Hard with the steel book cover. So far there are 2 votes of no. For the UPC of the movies I want added there is NO movie information for either movies. I then did an identification by disck ID and those movies were found so I changed the UPC code to refect the current case and then updated images only so the my contribution has the correct artwork but also has the correct profile for the movie. I'm trusting that whoever has final approval on my contributions can read and will be able to understand why I submitted what I did. Just had to clarify why the contributions of already existing titles.

(I picked the wrong Cloris Leachman role - I think I have it right now! If not, no dessert for me either!)

Why do you have to be insulting in every post you leave?

I USED INFORMATION THAT WAS ALREADY CONTAINED IN THE DATABASE!!! Like I explained here is what happened for those that don't understand.  I entered in the UPC from each movie and yes they were in the database. They both had great cover scans but NO DETAILED INFORMATION.  So I iinserted the DVD into my computer drive and let the DVD Profiler online database identify the movie by disc ID. I then added that to my inventory. I then used the Change UPC function and changed it. DVD Profier then informed me that there was a newer profile available. Already knowing that the cover scans were correct but no information was input I just updated the cover scans only. I figured that most people that download movie information would like to have all the info in their collection databases. All I'm trying to do is ensure that when a user enters in a UPC he/she is able to have full info for the movie plus the correct cover art.  I didn't think using existing information was using undocumented info. I understand that there is a certain amount of pride that goes with contributing to a great project such as this, but please before you go and jump with both feet and assume why don't you just message the person and ask questions before shooting them down. So if you do have questions feel free to message me and I will answer them. Hope this clears up why the submissions. If possible maybe somebody can edit the database and copy the information so that when you enter in the UPC you get the movie info plus correct cover art. I thought this was a simple request however maybe not.

Verdejt:

I know what you used. This is a NEW title, the old data was grandfathered in an old systemm and does not apply to new releases, even IF it is the same title. Remove the (uncredited) or document each one.

Maybe before you go jumping in with both feet you should attempt to find out what is going. In point of fact this has been discussed in this very forum within the last few days. Pride has nothing to do with it, sir, YOU doing what you are supposed to do DOES.

Then sir if you submitted the cover art for the UPCs in question why didn't YOU update the information to go along with it? Being a database administrator professionally you never input incomplete or missing data. To keep the peace I will withdraw the information, but in the future I suggest that when voting on submissions you clearly specify and completely include all reasons why you vote no. End of discussion you will hear no more from me on this.

If I input any data for this title, verjedt. It was strictly pre-release data, which I do for numerous titles.

And I did include all the information you needed  in the LIMITED amount of space that I have to leave you a note about the vote. If you are not clear in what I say you can always PM me and I will try to clarify and explain it for you further.

Skip.

I seem to recall Ken stating that a re-release cna have previous uncredited as long as it is documented that it came form the database. I voted no because I thought he said he was including cover scans and I didn't see them, that was my bad for not understading his notes.

As for being insulting, to some, the word Kiddo would be an insult.

Erik:

What Ken said was that (uncredited) can be removed IF it is an obvious clone of a certain Db. And I have said i won't do that, I will try and modify such , to make the connection less obvious. But that is another discussion, in another thread.
