I started reusing 2.4 when3.0 went down, now I can't get my database to correct itself when I try to download my DVD profiles. Anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it. I really don't want to go and search which ones are not in my collection Thanks for any and all information u can give.

If you have a complete up to date database in 2.4, the easiest method to get it into 3.0 is to use backup/restore.

i also have a little problem with the database... will you merge all the database from Intervocative with the one of Invelos in the next weeks?

Because there is several dvd profiles i cannot find back in the invelos database compared to the Intervocative one (mainly french movies) is there a way to "import" all the models/covers & data from version 2.4 to 3.0 ??? (or if you think you will merge the two databases someday together, then i can wait a little more...)

I think you will probably find numerous titles that don't make the merge for a variety of reasons, bogus UPC #s, pirated titles and so on.

Ken has already announced that he is intending to merge the old IVS profiles into the Invelos database.

I think many people here wouldn't want the merge between the databases. As skip stated, lots of bogus profiles in there.

I guess i already found that... but if there is no matching UPC code for the dvd we want to enter in the database... is it possible to create the profile ourself and upload it here somewhere to complete our database?

anyway, thanks for taking time to answer... and also to pauls42!

You can always add title Manually and they will Upload to your online list and be kept in your database locally, they just don't go into the central database.

If it IS a legal UPC and just not in the database yet, just add it locally then submit it to go into the central database so all those after you who input that UPC will get all the data
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong

Jebellis:

You aren't providing much information, assuming it is a legal copy which was purchased, without a UPC# all you can do is try Disc ID method. If you can provide some information on the title perhaps one of us can some guidance.

Agree.

Sounds to me like it's just not there yet. Either wait till Ken merges the two databases or upload it and any others you have that are not at Invelos so they will be there.

I not sure I like the idea of a merge of the two databases.  Those of us that switched to Invelos in the beginning worked really hard to get things close to right as we could and I am sure the Invelos database is a lot cleaner as far as illegal DVDs go.  I am up for more of what was done to build this database initially.  Restore your database into 3.0(then persnonally I would lock what I didn't want to change and refresh all the profiles so they match the Invelos Database) and if you have something that isn't there, contribute it.

I'm all for the merge. And Ken already has stated somewhere that he will only add missing profiles whose UPCs can be converted and that he will not overwrite Invelos profiles.

I know that many people have done a lot of work to populate the 3.0 database, but most of these initial contributions where (necessarly) rushed and nothing more than a merge done manually instead of automatically.
