| Posted: | | | | I'm a little jealous of the setups some of you have. Maybe if I can buy a house at some point I'll do something like that. Anyway...I've upgraded my system a bit since I last posted. I still have: TV - Toshiba 47HL167 DVD - Oppo DV-981HD Speakers - Polk Audio 5.1 satelllite system Sony VCR (though I can't seem to get it to work with my system now. It keeps freezing when I pull up the menu. grrrr) New stuff Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR705. It was under $600 on Amazon on Superbowl weekend so I jumped on it. HD-DVD - HD-A35. I've boxed up the HDA2 to keep as a back up. I may pick up another A35 if I find one really cheap. I'll pickup a Blu Ray player when some of new models come out later in the year (I'm looking mostly at the new Panasonc & Sony models). I'm hoping boot up time and some of the bugs I've read about in current models will be corrected. I may pick up one of those nice Harmony remotes to control everything at some point. The last piece of the puzzle will probaby to update my speakers. I'm happy with what I have now but I'd like a 7.1 system eventually. I also re-wired everything with new connectors & wires from monoprice. Quoting flyersfan: Quote: I've made some pretty major changes to my little home theater over the last month:
TV - Toshiba 47HL167 DVD - Oppo DV-981HD HD DVD - HD-A2 (should be arriving in the next week or so) Receiver - Panasonic SA-HE100. This is 3-4 years old. I'lll be upgrading to a newer HDMI model once I pay off some of the TV & HD DVD player. The TV has 3 hdmi inputs. Right now the Oppo, cable & the hd dvd player will be hooked up to the TV for video by hdmi...and audio output to my receiver. I'll upgrade so I can run the hdmi connections through the receiver and cut down on some of the wires. Speakers - Polk 5.1 setup. Not sure of the model #'s. I also have an older (meaning 5+ year old) Sony VCR. |

Quote: Anyone have any experience with these Quad Media Towers? They supposedly hold 702 DVDs each and I just purchased 2 of them. Hope I didn't waste my money .
They're fantastic. I've nearly filled the first one and am preparing to buy a second one.
Dude...I bought 2 of them and they're both already full. Gonna have to order another but I don't know where I'm going to put it . I just filled my third one of these. Problem now is I don't have room for another. | | | Jim

| Posted: | | | | Here is the new house. We don't have room for a dedicated theater. So this is the best alternative for now. Pull down Draper in front of front doors | | | Last edited: by Bill MacNeill |

Funny thing i've been thinking (dreaming) that i'd someday build a proper movie room, and the way i've been thinking of doing it, is pretty much exactly what you have there | | | Last edited: by whispering |
