| Posted: | | | | I use a variety of sources: sometimes I'll rip them off the DVD itself, sometimes I'll download them from the movie site, sometimes the Apple trailer site will allow you to download them, or on rare occasions I'll get access to an EPK in my job and I'll get them from there. I don't use them myself, but a quick google search brought up this site: http://www.empiremovies.comwho seem to have links to downloadable trailers. |

| Posted: | | | | Did you have trouble downloading from the sites I posted? With Daves page you simply left click the desired trailer/quality and a save dialog opens. As for HDT.net you left click the image of the film you want then right click on the desired qaulity and choose save as. I usually go for the 720p versions myself. | | | Last edited: by MarEll |

If anyone knows any others, do post them! Trailerdownload.net you have to register then the download section becomes available. Movie-list is simply a case of clicking on the desired film and then the download direct button. Movieinsider - click on browse movies then 'trailer' on the chosen film and follow the direct link button. Hope that helps. |

| Posted: | | | | thanks that worked very well. Also not so much a problem just annoying I downloaded a codec to make this work and now in the video window it shows an error finding codec but then plays the video it just takes a few extra seconds, any ideas? It works fine in the fullscreen version of media player.
How does the code know its looking for windows media player, and is it a standalone or the windows version? |

| Posted: | | | | I'm no expert on codecs but it sounds like it hasn't registered properly, so media player keeps looking for it before trying to play the file anyway. Either that or the codec you downloaded isn't exactly the one that media player is looking for, but can decode the video anyway. How you check this unfortunately is beyond me! |

| Posted: | | | | any idea why some files play just fine and some I have audio but no video?
Im wondering if Im doing this right? Ive been using Daves Trailer Page primarily and right clicking the appropriate resolution and "Save Target As" renaming the file with the UPC.wma and "Save As Type" Quicktime Movie. Does this sound correct? |

Does this sound correct? The first half sounds like a codec problem. As video and audio are encoded separately using different codecs, it's possible that you have the audio codec needed but not the video codec. I find this quite common with windows media player: I'll get audio off a movie file but no video, and it's codec search is pretty useless. I don't use Dave's Trailer Page so don't know if that's the right method to use, apart from the fact that wma is an audio file format, for videos you need to use wmv, although shouldn't quicktime movies be saved as mov files? |

| Posted: | | | | that maybe the problem, I thought all the files needed to be the same?Ive been saving all of them wma.
As far as the codec goes I searched and found 3ivx is supposed to translate quicktime vide so Windoes Media can play it. Maybe Ive done something wrong there?
ok Ive made a breakthru and now am wondering should I be saving these in the format found, for instance Daves Trailers is mostly quicktime, so should I be saving them in quicktime and changing the code in Dvd Profiler to look for .mov or should I be renaming the files to say wvn? Seems the only problem with the first part is it limits me to Quicktime videos!? | | | Last edited: by Mike |

| Posted: | | | | If you are not shure there are some tools to assist you in discovering what mediafile you have and if you have the codecs installed for that media. wma and even quicktime can have different codecs. following freeware/shareware: GspotMediaInfoVideoInspector | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Does this sound correct? The vast majority of DTP files are mov (especially the HD ones) though some are wmv. Changing the extension to anything else will render the file unplayable. Though you may get away with changing mov to wmv depending on your player?? Seem to remember trying it once and it working (on the lappy atm so cant try it again). | | | Last edited: by MarEll |
