I have to admit, I also remember a poll about this topic, and the majority of votes was to have the banners included.
Unfortunately I tried searching for it, but couldn't find it.

DVDP is not a democracy, it's a dictatorship
Ken dictates the contribution rules which (very clearly) talk about coverscans, but not (fake)banners. See, the banner is part of the case, not part of the cover itself....

Excuse me people, you are perhaps all out to lunch, it looks to me like all he did was create a scan of that specific area , which allowed him to focus on it and make it look as good as he possibly could. Having seen what the banner cann look like when it is scanned in conjunction with a given cover it looks like a perfectly rational concept.

YET AGAIN you're jabbering on without knowing what you're talking about. Yes, the good Dr. made a fine effort in the matter, but you're not in a position to vouch for its validity. I've only got a couple of HD-DVDs so far, but I know firsthand that for Blu-Ray at least, the top "banner" (which in any case is the wrong word entirely) differs slightly from case to case (as does the hue of the entire thing), presumably between studios. There CAN'T be a standardised "banner" because there is no standardised case. The same is true of SD releases but people are more sensible and logical about that.

So enough comments like "out to lunch" and the no doubt upcoming "peanut gallery", EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion, and it's not your place to put that down. Particularly when you admit you don't even have any hi-def discs from which to gain some base of credibility on the matter.

BTW, the above mentioned poll is 9:3 against using a banner with 3 neutrals.

Please people, there are two other threads discussing this.  Let's try to keep them contained.

You should post a poll to see if we should merge them.
